In this world of mindful sustainability, at times the essence of a real wood deck may be overlooked. But for the true outdoorsmen – and ladies – there’s nothing like celebrating the luxurious feel, look and aroma of nature in your own backyard on a wooden deck.
We know who we are. The truth of the matter is for REAL outdoor living lovers, wood has always been where it’s at for the long term.
It’s the luxe look of nature’s finest creation, treated with loving care by being protected for the years ahead with pressure-treated protocols. That’s how Archadeck of Akron feels about wood decks.
Start With A Wood Deck And Grow It Into A Combination Outdoor Living Room With A Stamped Concrete Patio
As you can tell, this is a multi-level deck with a step-down, in all its knotted wood splendor in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
As you relax in the far left area of the deck, a glance to the right side reveals an impressive privacy screen – also crafted out of wood, of course.
The privacy screen was added to break up the design schema and also hide the stairs from view when using the decks.
Even though the room above was pre-existing, we were able to leave some of the posts; and the homeowner cleverly hung bistro lighting there, too. Some of our clients love to add their touches of originality to our best laid plans and design – and we welcome it.
Under The Porch The Family Enjoys A New Patio
The under-porch area is where we added the stamped concrete patio, and the intricately interesting design you see for the pattern is called Arizona Flagstone.
If unfamiliar with the term “Arizona Flagstone”, this pattern refers to the real stone that inspired this look. Arizona Flagstone is an evenly layered sedimentary rock that is in flat slabs of stone, which can be split at the quarry or on the job site into many useful stone applications.
This vast and beautiful outdoor living combination space design offers the family plenty of room for dining, living, relaxing and more with the double deck area and under-porch dry space. As the family often tells us, “It’s simply wonderful – we just love it!”
This beautiful backyard is a testament that wooden decks are still a great choice – and a deck and patio combination creates the ideal outdoor living room.
