The Round Rock TX covered pergola project featured here is a good example of new homeowners adding their own imprint to their outdoor living space. When our clients purchased the home, they already had plans to make specific renovations inside and out. They didn’t want to add a lot to their outdoor living space, but what they did add will make a huge difference for them.
Pergola Design Details for Aesthetics and Function
The home had an existing concrete patio at the back door, and the homeowners felt like it was a good size for them. What they needed, however, was a structure to provide shade over the patio. Without a cover of some sort, a pergola can provide some shade, but not total shade. By choosing to add a covered pergola, the homeowners not only have shade, they have an outdoor living space protected from rain as well. The custom pergola that Archadeck of Austin designed and built here will give these homeowners many more “patio days” to enjoy each year!
Our clients chose cedar for their new freestanding pergola. So, in additional to being functional and framing the space visually, the pergola itself looks beautiful. For the pergola cover, the homeowners chose a standing seam metal roof. The top of this custom pergola was designed at a slight angle so rain will roll right off the metal roof.
