This outdoor living transformation is a great example of a good idea that gains momentum over time.
When we first arrived at this home, the only thing of any consequence in the backyard was an existing porch cover which was added by the homebuilder – a typical builder grade porch.
Before Archadeck of Austin began the new project.
Having lived there and acknowledging the shortcomings of that space, the homeowners wanted to add an outdoor kitchen and a cedar-framed screened wall system onto the existing porch.
So of course we were up to that task, as you can see in the transformational storybook screened porch photos here.
A little later, we returned and this time our team added a 20-foot by 20-foot deck with a recessed large hot tub. Arriving for installation on its own stand, we added weed guard and installed gravel underneath for long term stability.
The entire bottom side of the deck is only 1-1/2 feet off the ground and the gravel prevents any erosion from occurring underneath the deck.
As is typical of how we operate and serve our clients, Archadeck of Austin always goes the extra mile with attention to details like this on ALL our projects.
We also installed a cedar skirt wall and a door to service the spa, as well as an access area that lifts up from the top of the hot tub.
To protect the newly expanded space, we installed Fortress aluminum railing on the patio, as well as on the deck. We chose inset fiberglass screens for the screened walls to allow fresh air to ventilate the outdoor room.
For brilliant color and texture, we applied Sherwin Williams super deck stain on all of the stained areas, providing a streamlined cohesive look.
The outdoor kitchen had pre-existing supply hookups for water, drainage, gas, and electric, so it was indeed a pleasure to design and install their new outdoor kitchen.
We built a full masonry outdoor kitchen with Lueder's cap and added the client’s supplied appliances, including the sink and faucet.

Archadeck Designs For Function As Well As Beauty
Our design philosophy begins with functionality. Traffic flow is taken into consideration for the best functional use of the deck space. Pattern changes in the floorboards or structural elements such as pergolas are used to define separate “rooms.” We examine your specific needs. We even take your outdoor furniture into account — because a picnic table needs a different deck than a round umbrella table would.
You’ll be amazed at the way your Archadeck outdoor living space blends seamlessly with your home yet still manages to stand out as the masterpiece of your yard.
