When looking at the rear lawn landscape before we arrived to transform this Leander, Texas, backyard, I can’t help but think of the parable of water turning into wine.

An Amazing Hill Country View Deserves An Outdoor Stage To Drink It All In
This exquisite patio project, with a wood-burning firepit feature at the far right end, is a mosaic of texture and beauty.
Although it looks reminiscent of travertine, this patio is actually crafted from concrete with a decorative overlay in a Roman stone pattern.
As for the majestic-looking circular woodburning firepit, the surround is white limestone with a hint of light Nicotine. This rounded four-foot diameter fire feature, with a three foot interior diameter, also has a buff colored ring of Lueders stone at the top.
No stranger to this part of the country, Lueders Limestone is a tried and true Texas limestone and is sawn on top, as well as on the bottom. It contains a rich variation in gradients and colors from buff, light-gold, dove gray, to even deep-golds. Lueders limestone originates from a well-established stone quarry in North Texas.

Since the fire pit is open, to protect the interior when it rains, we installed a two-inch piece of galvanized steel into the ground to divert water away from the fire feature keeping it clean and tidy. This prevents soot-colored water from spilling out onto the beautiful patio surfaces.
