Starting with an existing covered patio, our mission was to custom design and build a 38-foot linear outdoor kitchen that would make food scientist, Alton Brown, of Good Eats fame “toasted” with envy.
As you can see in the images here, a vast variety of premium outdoor kitchen building materials came together to create this outdoor culinary oasis.
The construction components include Cinderblock, Limestone and Granite Countertops – and our Archadeck of Austin outdoor kitchen team also installed the gas and electrical connections, as well. Full service outdoor living design and construction – that’s the ticket!
Rustic Beauty, With An Outdoor Kitchen Privacy Wall, That Welcomes Fresh Breezes In High Style
To provide an element of privacy while grilling and entertaining, our team installed a horizontal slatted wall with just enjoy room for sunlight to dapple through.
This Barker Ranch At Shady Hollow backyard outdoor kitchen was efficiently designed in an L-shape. Left to right, here are the custom installation components that make it an entertaining chef’s dream come true.
The Big Green Egg: This Big Green Egg is a much-in-demand versatile feature of many South Austin custom outdoor kitchens this season. It’s a high-quality multi-purpose outdoor cooker that can grill, smoke, bake, and more. It reaches perfect cooking temperature and is ready to use in just minutes. It uses 100% natural lump charcoal, made from only the best cuts of natural hardwood for superb performance and results. Lighting the charcoal is always quick and easy, as the design of the Big Green Egg allows air flow to circulate efficiently. Use our SpeediLight natural charcoal starters, or an electric or butane starter; and you will never buy lighter fluid again. Notably, it is extremely safe to use as the ceramic surface doesn’t get as hot as a metal grill, and the heat source is protected within a ceramic fire box inside the base. When it comes to clean up, The Big Green Egg features a professional grade stainless steel cooking grid and an elegant green exterior with a lifetime glaze that maintains its good looks and wipes clean easily without chemical cleaners. Inside, residual heat burns away any grease build-up – just like a self-cleaning oven – and ash build-up is minimal. A win/win.
Outdoor Kitchen Storage: An abundance of outdoor kitchen storage drawers follow to the right and are strategically located throughout the L-shape design. The family requested several for heightened functionality and convenience in food preparation, grilling, cooking and refrigeration so trips back inside the home won’t be necessary. There are utensil storage drawers that now provide a designated space for keeping grilling tools, cutlery, tongs, spatulas, and other cooking utensils easily accessible when needed. As for cookware, pots, pans, and baking sheets, it is now neatly organized in these storage drawers, keeping the outdoor kitchen tidy and efficient – which is especially important when entertaining surrounded by family members and guests.
Dishware Storage: Plates, bowls, cups, and other dishware is now also stored in designated outdoor kitchen drawers, ensuring that everything needed for outdoor dining is within reach.
Food Storage: Non-perishable food items, spices, condiments, and marinades can now also be stored in outdoor kitchen drawers, making it convenient to access frequently used ingredients while cooking, baking and grilling.
An outdoor gas grill, and a griddle cooktop also accompany the outdoor kitchen cooking necessities, along with refrigerator for beverages and yet another for perishable food items that need to stay chilled prior to preparation and serving. Bins for recyclables and trash are also positioned for fast and easy clean up.
