Just like magic, Archadeck of Birmingham has been changing something simple into something grand. And we’re not talking about mice and pumpkins here.
Take, for example, this Lake House with a mild mannered deck and covered porch. It had great aspirations, wanting to grow into something with more functionality and utility, offering protected views of nature in all its waterside splendor.
For starters, this Birmingham porch builder took the existing lower lever deck and upper porch, and expanded it from eight feet in depth to sixteen feet, gracing the water’s edge.
The covered porch offers abundant views and breezes open to nature. And for easier access to the lake, new stairs down to the water's edge were added in powder-coated aluminum, for beauty and durability.
Newly surrounded by louvered skirting, the porch also features a closed gable end with cedar lap siding and a flat ceiling within its interior. The remaining wood within the build is pressure-treated pine. And to complete this fairytale transformation, elegant arched openings were created on the covered/open porch area.
But that’s not all. Atop the structure is yet another level, offering long distance views of the glorious lake. To add even more protection from occasional weather elements, we transformed the porch into a screened porch – screened and topped with a new aluminum roof. And the depth was also expanded to match the sixteen-foot depth footprint of the first level.
Interesting to note is that this vacation-loving family are past Archadeck clients, having had their primary home exterior transformed into something truly wonderful.
It’s innovative design thinking and custom building expertise that sets Archadeck apart from those who occasionally build a deck – just a deck. Archadeck’s portfolio of stunning outdoor living spaces has become legendary.
