It had to be removed – may it rest in pieces.
In fact, this failing deck structure was so bad … this is where you ask, “How bad was it?” … When we removed the old deck, we also found more trouble -- rot on the house band and siding. Oh, boy.

TIME FOR OUTDOOR LIVING SURGERY AND RECONSTRUCTION
Starting at the beginning, this family home in Peach County, GA, which is just South of Fort Valley, is in a rural area with a small lake – lovely and tranquil.
The homeowners were well aware that the deck on their home was falling apart due to age and extreme weather exposures. The deck was likely original to the home when it was built decades ago.

After our thorough inspection, it was apparent that the entire structure – and surrounding adjacent areas – were failing, We had no choice other than to remove the entire deck.

The homeowners specifically wanted a high-quality deck builder to build the new deck. CHECK! They also wanted it to be low-maintenance. CHECK! They also requested that they wanted this to be the last deck they would ever have to build. TRIPLE CHECK!

Having a good vision of what they were now looking for, the family also wanted to change the design a little over the previous deck by opening it up more.
So we dramatically enlarged the footprint creating a huge stage for outdoor living enjoyment and functionality. The new design now stretches across the entire width of the rear of the house.
Our outdoor living design team not only redesigned the space, but we also changed the footprint from a multi-level staging to one level with larger steps leading to their in-ground swimming pool.

With a custom outdoor shower also being a request of the lovely clients, we built an area for an outdoor shower and used a uniquely stunning vintage grate the homeowner already had. We had it meticulously powder coated and also built a support system for the shower head.
