In the heart of Milledgeville on Lake Sinclair, Archadeck of Central GA uncovered a unique opportunity to perform a minor miracle.
In what might be considered the most functional outdoor living transformation in Georgia’s “must visit small town,” we updated this backyard space to remedy a host of issues the existing space was causing the homeowners.
Their existing pressure treated wooden deck was starting to show signs of age. Additionally, since it wrapped around the home, the expanse would exaggerate any issues that were likely to soon arise based on the age of the structure.
Existing structure before Archadeck redesigned and updated the space.
The stairs were also a big issue, as there were a lot of them, originating at the back door of the home. They made navigation to the primary deck area difficult.
Last but not least, there was the issue with sun exposure, making the area hot during the summer – and that is a problem for a lakeside outdoor living space that begs to be enjoyed all year long.
SEEING IS BELIEVING WITH THE ARCHDECK 3D RENDERING PROCESS
After meeting with us for an outdoor living space design consultation, the homeowners viewed several Archadeck deck and porch combo designs we prepared for them. Our 3D design rendering process gave us the option to showcase several design options.
The winning design was the covered porch and deck combination pictured here:
To begin the transformation, we tore off the old deck completely to start fresh. Our design plan was to create a more ergonomic and functional design that better suited the family’s needs.
The new design makes access to the main upper level deck safe and easy as the structure is now level to the back door of the home.
QUALITY DESIGN, EXCELLENT CONSTRUCTION AND OUTSTANDING MATERIALS ALL ADD UP TO ARCHADECK EXCELLENCE
This new outdoor living oasis was built using Fiberon Good Life low-maintenance decking in the color “Beach House.” For a strong design accent and to add depth and dimension to the new space, the railing surround is pressure-treated wood with a Fiberon top cap to match the new decking.
A stunning crowning touch is the gable roof we created over the porch. Using a crow-stepped gable (also known as a Queen truss) we added architectural beauty and vertical interest.
And if you think all this is impressive enough, just look at the stunning Lake Sinclair views this family enjoys – a mere few yards from this new deck and porch combination.
