Our recent combination project in Irmo, SC, proves the power of multiples when planning the perfect outdoor living environment.
When the homeowners contacted Archadeck of Central SC for a consultation, they had an existing deck that offered little benefit or versatility. The deck was also showing signs of age and exposure. Their ultimate goal was to create an area that provided enough space for outdoor dining, grilling, and relaxing while still offering much-needed shade. Our solution was a multi-faceted deck and sunroom combination. By combining these two structures, we were able to not only deliver all the benefits they were looking for in an outdoor space but increase the enjoyment within their home as well.
The deck is built from top quality pressure-treated pine. Since the design is low-to-grade, the code did not require skirting or railing. The absence of both adds to the Zen appeal of the space and promises unobstructed views. The sunroom is easily accessible from both the deck and interior of the home. It features a cathedral ceiling finished in PlyBead panels and white vinyl windows for easy maintenance and enhanced energy efficiency. Archadeck of Central SC carefully matched the siding to that used elsewhere on the home.
This combination project provides a smooth transition from indoors to outdoors. The flow of the design makes it ideal to use for family gatherings, entertaining, and everyday use. The homeowners are able to go from within the home to the deck, from the deck to their spacious backyard, from the deck to the sunroom, and back again without skipping a beat.
