We gave this family a very stylish and comfortable space, which they will be able to enjoy for many more hours each year.
As an outdoor living building design and build firm, we were able to assess these homeowners’ existing deck structure and find a perfect roof solution. Under their high gable roof, these homeowners will be protected from the elements, but still have the feeling of openness. Interior porch customization included a cedar tongue and groove ceiling with ceiling fans and recessed lighting.

All the porch trim was created with Boral wrap. The interior and exterior of the gable includes both Hardie board siding and Boral trim elements.

To ensure this Powell OH porch looks original to the home, we fashioned the new shingles to match those on the home. We were also able to keep the existing deck railing intact, which we slightly modified for the new space (some porch railing posts are yet unpainted in these photos). The homeowners also wished to leave a portion of the deck uncovered. This will allow them to maintain a completely open-air space for sunning, grilling, or any other outdoor entertaining or relaxation use. We always recommend a deck accompaniment when building a porch!
