After installing concrete footers down to the frost line with stand off brackets, the new portico posts were wrapped in Fypon wraps for aesthetics, longevity and long-term low maintenance.

To compliment the beauty of the posts, the new structure was trimmed in Pauwlonia by this Columbus porch builder. Paulownia hard wood (also known as Royal/Empress Paulownia or Princess tree) has been officially deemed the aluminum of timber, as it is the lightest to strongest ratio wood species in the world. It is odorless, naturally resistant to fire, salt water, termites, decay, and rot. Furthermore, Pauwlonia is very light, fine-grained, and warp resistant. It is the fastest-growing hardwood. An excellent choice on all counts.
