Last year, one of our Granville clients asked for the sun, the moon, and the stars.
“A platform for an outer space observatory?”
“No problem,” our deck building team said.
Recently, that same Granville client contacted us to redeck two other decks in their backyard and install new railings.
It was a request to redeck and transform two pressure-treated wood decks that were in pretty good condition due to the homeowner’s diligence with upkeep.
But now it was time for a change.
How To Redeck And Transform Two Decks Adjacent To A Beautiful Patio
Admittedly, this scenario was different and intrigued us.
The backyard had a stain and stamp patio that was sandwiched between the two decks. The deck at the far right of the yard was kept pretty much wide open, so it could accommodate a variety of outdoor leisure activities. Did someone say, “Dance Party?”
Opposite at far left, across from the patio, was the second deck that was eyed for redecking. That deck was where the majority of the family’s day-to-day outdoor living took place.
Primarily intended for specific use, this redeck was regularly used for alfresco backyard dining and grilling. The spacious and generously sized deck footprint had ample room to host six for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – and often an outdoor session of Rummikub.
The Redecking Solution Where What Was Wood Now Becomes Better Than Wood – And Better Looking
Once the original pressure treated wood decks were removed, we went to work on the redeck configuration.
Before.
Before.
Instead of wood which the family regularly maintained, the family was ready for a respite from that chore. Using TimberTech Silver Maple composite decking for the redeck upgrade, the homeowners decided that powder-coated white aluminum railing was the ultimate finishing touch. This Preferred Railing Systems Georgian series beautifully defined both of the newly redecked spaces with an aura of understated elegance.
After.
With handsome square white balusters and stoic vertical rails, the newly decked outdoor spaces were ready to accommodate a significant number of family, friends, and neighbors, keeping the perimeter of both decks safe and very accessible.
After.
As well made and resilient as the TimberTech redecking material is, those same attributes of excellence are featured in the railing. The railing used on both decks will not crack, peel, blister, flake or rust – and this is a warranty for the lifetime of the real estate homeowner.
A Dual Redeck Masterpiece That Virtually Takes Care Of Itself
The TimberTech Silver Maple composite decking, part of the TimberTech Terrain Collection, features a ruggedly handsome cathedral grain that you’d swear was wood. But it’s not. It’s better.
Lovely!!
This double deck family will now enjoy a timeless, traditional wood look without the rigorous maintenance of wood. Featuring a character-rich hand-scraped texture, the redecking premium polymer capped composite boards deliver real wood aesthetics you’ll never have to sand, stain, or seal.
Other TimberTech deck color choices included Brown Oak, Rustic Elm, Sandy Birch, and Stone Ash. But Silver Maple won the family vote due to its wistful, silvery gray patina with subtle color blending that resembles matured maple wood. It’s just stunning, from any perspective.
This redecking and renovation project is in good hands as it comes with a 30 year fade and stain limited warranty in part due to its Mold Guard capped composite technology manufacturing process.
