The owners of this newer home in southwest Fort Wayne had a small concrete patio for their outdoor living area. They wanted more.
Together we designed an outdoor space that included a two-level deck with inset steps, 12V-LED lights on step risers and a natural gas fire pit.
We saved some money by designing around and over the top of the existing concrete, rather than removing it.
The owners specified pressure treated decking to minimize their investment while accepting some additional maintenance. When pressure treated is specified we always use Ground Contact treated lumber throughout to assure that there will never be a premature deterioration in any area of the deck.
The deck was finished by closing off the underside with underdeck vertical board skirting to prevent debris from collecting underneath.
The owners thought ahead and contacted us in the Fall of the prior year so that we could have designs ready for an early spring build (we were also able to secure materials at prior year pricing). They plan some nice landscaping around the deck and because we were able to complete early, things will be well established when summer comers.
They now have two distinct entertaining areas and will find much enjoyment on both, especially around the Belgard Weston gas firepit that included Bullnose coping………Cheers!
