When life gives you lemons, it is often said to be smart and make lemonade. And when your new home has a small concrete landing pad outside your kitchen door, it is really smart to have Archadeck of Suburban Boston replace it with a new paver patio and a quaint and cozy 3 season room – just perfect for a family of four.
Is It A Good Idea To Put A Shed Roof Over A 3 Season Room?
As is evident with this new outdoor project, a shed roof can be a practical and stylish choice for a 3-season room. It provides a simple and effective way to shed water and snow, and its slope allows for efficient drainage. Plus, it can give your 3 season room a modern and streamlined look.
How Functional Are 3 Season Rooms In Reading Massachusetts?
Reading, Massachusetts experiences a typical New England climate with cold winters, warm summers, and moderate rainfall. 3-season rooms are generally well-suited for such climates. During spring, summer, and fall, you can enjoy the extra space without worrying too much about extreme weather. This is where a 3 season room as a simple outdoor living room shines.
What Can You Use A 3 Season Room For?
A 3-season room is a versatile space that can serve various purposes during the warmer months. It's a great space to enjoy the outdoors while still being protected from the less favorable aspects of the weather. Here are just a few ideas that may be a good fit for what you’re looking for:
Reading Nook: Create a quiet corner with comfortable seating, good lighting, and surrounded by nature. It's a perfect place to unwind with a good book.
Entertainment Space: Use it as a casual entertainment area for family and friends. It could be a cozy place for board games, watching movies, or playing music.
Game Room: Install a small table for card games or board games. It's a relaxed setting for family game nights.
Home Office: Create a bright and inspiring home office. Working with a view of the outdoors can make your work hours more enjoyable.
Exercise Room: Set up exercise equipment or use the space for yoga and stretching. The openness can enhance your workout experience.
Solarium: Enjoy the sunlight without being exposed to the elements. It can be a perfect spot for reading, relaxing, or even indoor gardening.
Intimate Dining: Set up a dining table and enjoy meals with a view. It's like dining outdoors without dealing with bugs or sudden rain.
Our 3 Season Room And Patio Design Plan
It was a refreshing assignment to design and build this lovely paver patio and 3 season room. The family was of the mindset that less is more, in wanting a cozy, protected outdoor area so they can enjoy warm breezes and view the beauty of their backyard landscape.
After installing the new hardscape paver patio in shades of soft grays and off-whites, we built the 3 season room using aluminum sliding windows on top and screen with tempered panels on the bottom.
The interior of this outdoor living room features an open rafter ceiling –with tongue and groove upside down within the inside ceiling on the rafters – giving the new space a cool look.
The interior flooring features low-maintenance decking in rich chocolate brown variegated hues. Our team also painted the entire interior of the space and installed a ceiling fan for extra comfort on those warmer days and evenings.
