What’s better than having a tranquil backyard pool to beat the Texas heat? Having an equally as tranquil outdoor space to match, of course! That is what Archadeck of Northeast Dallas-Southlake provided to these Coppell, TX clients when they contacted us to upgrade their poolside area.
When we initially met with these homeowners, their existing outdoor living space consisted of a walk out concrete aggregate patio with a wooden pergola. Although the pergola had served them well, it was time for a change. Their goal was to have a space that not only encompasses enhanced aesthetics, but also one that would give them more protection from the elements, nuisance insects and seasonal debris. With a list of needs and desires, Archadeck moved forward with perfecting a design that would address all this and more!
Before.
First we began by removing the wooden pergola. Once the pergola was out of the picture, we then added a hip roof covered patio structure. The tie in to the home was challenging, however, Archadeck made the new roofed addition appear original by matching the shingles and architectural nuances of the home. Notice how we meticulously worked around the masonry chimney and home’s second story windows – perfection!
Once we had the patio cover structure in place, we then screened the entire area using our signature screening system, SCREENEZE®. This system is a patented , fixed screen system, featuring an aluminum base and a vinyl cap which are snapped together and attached to your porch. Screen clarity and the ability to span wider areas with no wrinkles are just a few of the reasons we recommend this system.
In addition to the wide screened openings, we also installed two PCA door on either end of this space. The dual entry allows easy access to the adjacent patio as well as the driveway.
The patio cover was then trimmed in all white to match the existing finishes of the home itself. We also added a doggy door to the space to ensure the client’s pet(s) could also enjoy the new porch, too!
The interior of the screened patio features a exposed beamed ceiling. The beams are offset with a wooden tongue and groove ceiling which we stained in Dark Walnut to add warmth and depth. Archadeck then added comforting amenities like the recessed canned lighting and a ceiling fan.
Last but not least we made sure to paint all the doors and window trim in a custom color of the client’s choosing . For these areas, they chose a color called Heron Plume from Sherwin Williams.
The clients are elated with their new updated poolside oasis!
