When we first met this Richardson TX family for their complimentary outdoor living design consultation, we weren’t sure where to place their new deck due to the lay of the land in their vast backyard.
The backyard terrain was so visually interesting, we wanted to complement it, not detract from it.
2nd Level Deck Living Offers A Fresh Perspective On Leisure Relaxation
This sprawling Tudor style family home has so many beautiful juts in the architecture, that we finally recommended not to use the ground floor walkout as the access point.
Instead, we recommended the primary living level on the second floor. This provided many advantages for access, design, style, and comfort.
Our design team started at the left end of the rear of the home by drafting plans for a dramatic stairway to reach that second level.
Upon reaching that second level, entry from the deck into the home is effortless via a double-wide door entrance was unveiled within the Tudor influenced turret.
We then decided to follow the architectural flow of the rear of the home to be more fluid with the landscape below.
As you can imagine, the elevated views from this new structure are simply stunning, as you gaze beyond the confines of the backyard into rolling hills and fields beyond.

Without obstructing any views into the backyard vista, it now provides sturdy and dependable protection while the family and their friends enjoy their new outdoor living space.
