Acknowledgement for a job well done is a wonderful thing. But when it comes from your peers, that is a reward that is exceptionally special.
Exhibit 1: Irving, TX, Outdoor Living Space That Is A Visual Symphony Of Stone, Wood, And Metal
This outdoor transformation began with a standard walk out covered concrete patio and an aging wooden deck. When the homeowners reached out to Archadeck of Northeast Dallas, they were looking to update their backyard with a space more suitable to the scale and architecture of their Irving, TX, home.
Our client also requested a space that combined outdoor and open-air space, an outdoor kitchen, an area for a TV, and a way to close off the space for privacy. Take a look at our feature video from our YouTube channel showing the completed project.
As you can see, the resulting design was an integration turning their wishes into a full-scale design, complete with a shed roof covered backyard cabana with a side patio and numerous other creature comforts.
Laying the foundation for the spacious 20 foot by 15 foot covered patio/cabana addition, Archadeck installed a stain and stamp patio. We used a 12-inch wooden plank pattern on the patio floor in gray with a charcoal release – a beautiful result!

Just off of the patio, we also installed a coordinating hardscape walkway with black stones. Adjacent to the house exterior wall, we also added a stunning cedar fence and finished it with a clear, oil based stain to retain the wood’s natural beauty. The cedar privacy fencing extends the perimeter of the backyard.
Other key features of the custom cabana include the aluminum shutters which are powder-coated bronze. The slats open and close and can be fully expanded or shut to provide privacy.
The verdict? A Design Excellence Award Winner for the Third Quarter of 2022 in the Archadeck Outdoor Living Combo Projects category.

The alfresco dining table, at the rear of the structure, comfortably seats 6 with room for more, if needed. The patio also features additional seating for 12 or more on an assortment of swivel rocking chairs, gliders, and a deep-seated outdoor sofa.

Enhancements to make this an optimum covered porch patio and a special haven include a cinema-screen-sized streaming television, recessed LED can lights, and a giant ceiling fan.
With an exterior framing trimmed in white to match the house perfectly, this latest award winner looks as if it has always been there, championing our dedication to flawless, cohesive architectural design.
