If you glance at the “Before” photo of this Dallas backyard, and compare it to this finished outdoor living space extravaganza, you may just say, “You’ve come a long way, baby!”
Before.
After.
Talk about transformations – just look at this place.
From The Ground Up, This Outdoor Living Oasis Has Everything
Let’s start at the beginning. At ground level, the new outdoor living patio foundation was created with our classic treatment of stamp and stain patio.
The patio floor is stain and stamp concrete via an Ashlar slate stamp and the stain colors are bone and walnut release.
Emanating from the new patio is a miniature golf course putting green with four holes for family fun.
To safeguard and protect the homeowner’s family, friends, and their visiting guests while enjoying this new luxury patio space, we provided overhead shade with a patio cover that shelters the entire installation with an attached gable roof. But that’s not the end of it.
See the stunning stacked stone wall at the far right? That’s the rear view of a resplendent new custom woodburning fireplace, reminiscent of the design and patina of structures in Tuscany. This fireplace was built using Granbury builder choice stone for its inherent texture, beauty, and rich color value. We also used it in the outdoor kitchen structure and counter top surface for seamless design continuity.
It's generously sized depth hearth is designed to hold a wealth of seasoned firewood to crackle and warm those comfortably seating on both sides of the stacked stone structure.
Above the expertly honed mantle piece, is a large screen smart TV for those weekend sporting events, as well as after dinner movie nights – and we are confident there will be many.
An Outdoor Kitchen That Outperforms The One The Family Has Inside The House
Once outside, chances are that the family will want to stay out there as long as they wish. So for convenience and catering to that distinct possibility, we crafted an outdoor kitchen that is the pride of Dallas.
A four burner outdoor grill sets the stage for this straight lined grilling, cooking, and preparation area. With plenty of under counter storage – and a deep refrigerator – every convenience the family could ask for is perfectly placed right there.
Especially convenient is the extra wide stone counter top, which serves as a large food prep area and doubles as a bar area when needed. Double duty we call it.
Details That Matter Inside The Outside Living Room
The interior surfaces of this new covered patio feature a pine tongue and groove stained dark walnut. It provides a beautifully rich contrast against the dreamy white Granbury builder choice stone surround.
Above it all, we redid the ceiling finish for the carport and added a wall with cedar pickets painted white between the carport and the new patio. At the end of the day, it all adds up to an outdoor living patio-plus outdoor living room that welcomes all who enter.
