Creating the backyard outdoor living oasis of their dreams, this family has absolutely no reason to ever leave home to enjoy the beauty of nature surrounded by Dallas breezes and crystal blue waters – two steps from their interior kitchen.
Wishing Can Make It So With Archadeck
Accented by two expansive shade trees in their backyard, this family enjoys a lovely in ground pool as often as they can. The dilemma was that the pool was all there was, except for a quaint patio under a pergola roof.
Before.
After.
The family contacted our Archadeck team and had a pretty extensive wish list and it was the pleasure of local franchise owners, Agustin and Amanda Garza, to grant them all.
From The Top Down, Outdoor Living Luxury And Utility Comes To Vibrant Life
For protection from the outdoor elements and an occasional respite from the Dallas sun, the new infrastructure plan called for us to design and build a gable roof overhead patio cover and a shed roof, a double delight.
If you are intrigued by the beauty, form, and function of this extensive outdoor paradise upgrade project, here are the details:
Overhead Enhancements
1. Our construction team attached a closed end gable roof measuring 16 feet by 22 feet allowing for a generous expanse of leisure and an entertaining outdoor covered area
2. Two beautifully handcrafted cedar columns at a density of 8 inches by 8 inches – stained dark walnut to accent the aesthetics of the home’s exterior
3. Under the new roof finds a beam wrap, also in cedar, stained dark walnut to complement the new cedar support columns
4. The new rafters are 2 inches by 8 inches and 16 inches off center
5. The interior of the new vaulted ceiling was fashioned with a perennial favorite of ours – Tongue & Groove Pine, in one inch by 6 inch panels, with exposed beams also stained in dark walnut
6. The gable end was enclosed with Tongue & Groove Pine, also in one inch by 6 inch panels, with the exposed beams also stained in dark walnut
7. As for the new attached shed roof, its dimensions are 12 feet 8 inches by 12 feet 2 inches
8. Its Beam Wraps were crafted out of cedar and stained dark walnut
9. As for the finishing touch of detail, the trim was painted to match the home’s exterior in Desert Beige
Ready For Some Texas Barbecue? Let’s Head Over To The New Outdoor Kitchen
The beautiful and multi-functional L-shaped outdoor kitchen at the right rear of the home features an 8 inch backsplash adjacent to the stunning granite counter top.
The one handsome column that defines the left side support is 36 inches tall and stained dark walnut to coincide with the exterior structural pallet.
Practically Perfect In Every Way Is This New Poolside Patio
As this transformation was extensive by design, it only made sense when the family requested a new patio surface both under the new roof structures, as well as around the in ground swimming pool.
Expensive looking, but a very economical solution, instead of limestone we poured a brushed concrete stain and stamp patio. The circumference of the new patio beautifully follows the contours of the pool, yielding a fairytale-like appearance from up above.
Powered Up And Ready To Rock For Those Long Luxurious Days And Dreamy Outdoor Evenings
Per normal, our electrical team did an outstanding job making sure that every possible electronic convenience would be there. Here’s the checklist of what they installed:
• 6 inch can lights for ambient nighttime illumination
• 3 pendant lights suspended over the outdoor kitchen bar extension
• Flood lights for exterior uplight highlighting
• For convenience, a switch with dimmer/fan speed controls
• Ceiling fans for comfort when needed
• Multiple outlets to power digital devices conveniently without heading back indoors
