Our expert patio designers started by creating a foundation of the expanded space with a richly textured stamp and stain creation. The stamp design has the look of a wood deck (without any of the maintenance requirements of wood) brought to life in a bone stain with a charcoal release. Stunning.
What is stamp and stain overlay? A stamp and stain concrete overlay is a concrete cement based material that can be installed directly on top of an existing concrete surface with a decorative pattern added to it. It’s a great alternative hardscape solution and usually more economical when compared to pavers or stone foundations.
When A Translucent Pergola Proves To Be The Perfect Outdoor Living Patio Topper
Wanting covered patio protection from intense UV rays from the sun and that occasional burst of rain, our design team recommended that the new patio outdoor living space be covered in a contemporary style L-shaped cedar pergola.
To illuminate the space during daytime hours, the cedar pergola – stained in a handsome dark walnut – was strategically covered with a Polygal roof in the bronze color.
For those not familiar with it, Plazit Polygal provides extruded acrylic and polycarbonate solid sheets that are highly durable, resilient and offer excellent UV protection. It’s an ideal material solution for clients who wish overhead protection when inside their pergola while still enjoying the benefits of daylight filling the space. A true win/win.
At dusk, when the sun starts to melt in the Richardson, TX, sky, evening illumination is provided with party lights around the perimeter for festive lighting adding value to the outdoor enjoyment experience for this family and their guests.
For cooling comfort when needed, three ceiling fans were also installed to provide adequate airflow circulation.
