This family of four living just outside Halifax in the Hammonds Plains area, wanted to expand their year-round living and create their dream outdoor space.
They were looking for a company who could offer a turnkey solution for their project. Archadeck NS was happy to step up to the plate and design an indoor/outdoor area that combined all their needs. Wood deck, sunroom, stone patio, gazebo, hot tub area, fire pit, outdoor kitchen and lighting – a tall order – but we were up for the exciting challenge.
A sunroom was added to the existing home. This southern-facing room allowed them to take advantage of the natural light, creating a bright and sunny space. It allows them get closer to nature, while staying warm and cozy throughout the winter.
The western red cedar deck incorporates an outdoor kitchen – including fridge, grill, side-burner, and sink. Built-in planters create natural railings and ad beautiful pops of colour throughout the space.
The deck transitions to stone patio below. A propane fire pit was added with surrounding built in benches to accommodate large groups of family and friends.
A cabana gazebo was placed over the new hot tub area. The cedar roof integrated outdoor speakers and skylights to gaze at the stars. A bar area was added to be easily accessible from either side – the hot tub or fire pit area. Low-voltage lighting was used throughout the space to ensure nighttime safety and ambiance.
