This Guilford County transformation included adding a screened porch/3-season room to the existing deck space and building a new deck off the area.
These Oak Ridge homeowners had an old deck on the back of their home, where bugs were so problematic, they could not enjoy their outdoor living space. Together, we decided to design a custom screened porch with Eze-Breeze windows and an attached deck, perfect for grilling right outside their new screened porch. They have a beautifully wooded lot which is a huge plus, but comes with an abundant insect population. They desired an enclosed space so they could enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and their gorgeous piece of property without the bugs. A screened area where they could dine, relax and entertain was the space they longed for. They also wanted to maintain a deck area so they would still have the ability to grill out.
The newly designed area is detailed in this design plan prepared for the Oak Ridge, NC residents.
They originally considered another company, who gave them a price of over $40,000 for an all-metal product. They decided this wasn’t exactly what they had in mind and contacted Archadeck of the Piedmont Triad. Together we came up with a design that would transform their existing deck into a screen porch with and EZE Breeze window system, which would enable them to utilize the area for more seasons throughout the year and in essence give them a 3-season room. The windows can be raised and lowered to accommodate the South’s changing seasons and to extend their outdoor living enjoyment well into the fall. The window system will keep the bugs out too. The area even includes a custom doggy door, so their dog can come and go as he pleases while enjoying the new space along with his owners.
No detail was left behind in this new space, including the doggy door for the homeowners beloved pooch.
We also added a nice sized deck coming off the screened porch that descends into the backyard and has ample room for grilling or anything else the owners have in mind. They couldn’t be more pleased with their new and improved outdoor living space.
