These Greenbrier Farm homeowners make an elegant departure from your traditional screened porch addition.
When we initially consulted with these Winston Salem, NC homeowners they conveyed to us that they had wanted an open and air screened porch on the back of their home for a long time. Since the existing home presented a very complicated roof system to achieve a gable roof, this was a huge issue we had to solve to ensure everything came together appropriately. Archadeck of the Piedmont Triad was able to overcome the roof issues and provide these Greenbrier Farm homeowners the outdoor room of their dreams.
The homeowners had an existing deck on four brick piers. We converted an area of the deck into a three-season room and added stairs down into a small low-maintenance deck in order to compliment the new outdoor room. The deck is built-in AZEK Morado PVC decking and has black aluminum rail which ties the deck into the other backyard structures. The newly finished deck and three-season room are clearly a match made in heaven!
The decision to use the Eze-Breeze window system came from the family’s love of enjoying the outdoors. Utilizing Eze-Breeze gives the homeowners more time to enjoy their beautiful backyard in comfort and protection. The Eze-Breeze window system is low-maintenance and allows the homeowner to choose how much moisture and temperature protection they need in their space. For this project, we used a white, four-track sliding window system. This innovative system consists of high quality vinyl glazed windows on a convenient sliding panel system. The sliding panels allow homeowners to utilize as much or as little window as they want. When used in combination with screen you can take advantage of fresh air on a hot day or slide all the windows into place for protection on a cooler day. The addition of the Eze-Breeze system adds versatility to many outdoor room designs by enabling you to turn your screened porch into a 3-season room to better utilize the area for more time throughout the year.
The interior of this three-season room is finished with a charming vinyl beaded ceiling and a tongue and groove pine floor. The flooring details pay homage to rustic-inspired style, while the ceiling offers a touch of country in a low-maintenance material. The finished space also allows for plenty of light via the trapezoidal gable ends within the roof and the addition of two, Velux skylights. Simply breathtaking!
The Greenbrier Farm homeowners are elated with their new combination space. Seeing and utilizing the final completed space made the homeowners wish they would’ve made the decision to start the project sooner. The new 3-season room and low-maintenance deck has opened up a world of outdoor, and indoor living possibilities for them.
