What a difference this new Winston Salem porch makes

Every project we complete increases the value of our client’s property, and gives them new ways to enjoy spending time at home with friends and family.

Adding a new front porch along the entire front of a house, however, takes things to the next level. It turns the head of every person driving down the street. It’s a complete transformation of the property. This Winston Salem porch is one such project!

Home before porch additionConsider the front facade of your house to be its public face. Everyone from the mail carrier to your mother is going to take notice when you make the kind of positive, dramatic change a new front porch provides. By their very nature, porches are welcoming. Even if you are not sitting on your porch, the message it sends is that you are someone who enjoys living in your neighborhood and being part of it.

When we started this Winston Salem front porch, the home had a plain, two-dimensional front. We created a full-span porch with vinyl rails and posts that blends seamlessly with the existing structure. The tongue & groove pine ceiling is painted white, a classic, low-maintenance style that suits the rest of the home. The stamped concrete floor is cool and easy to care for. The final touch is an elegantly curved brick walkway that leads visitors from the driveway or the street up to the new structure. There, they can sit and socialize on a beautiful day or have cover from rain or snow on an inclement one.

As you can see, this home looks completely different after its makeover. Having said that, the improvements aren’t at odds with either the existing house or the ones on either side. It still belongs on its street and in its neighborhood, even though the look is fresh and updated. Improving or adding onto your house doesn’t mean you have to change the essential character of the home that you loved when you bought it. It really improves the curb appeal though.

Porch addition
Winston Salem porch addition by Archadeck of the Piedmont Triad

The first thing our clients did after we completed the project was to install a traditional porch swing and bring out some wooden rocking chairs. Just like that, they have a brand new place to sit outside and connect with the neighborhood. They exchange greetings with the dog walkers and watch the children play in the yard across the street. They also enjoy swinging in solitude at the end of the day, listening to the sounds of the night.
