Are you longing for a getaway but not able to travel? One option is to create an outdoor living space reminiscent of the places you love to visit, right outside your door. At Archadeck of Raleigh-Durham, we can design a fully customized deck, patio, porch, and/or three-season room for you, that recreates the feel of your favorite destination. You dream it; we build it!
For more than 30 years, Archadeck has helped Raleigh-area homeowners create their ideal backyard oasis in a range of designs and styles. Enjoy the design features in these varied structures, which were carefully chosen to evoke the feel of places that inspired them.
Coastal Beach Cottage
Having a beach within driving distance is a blessing. Many Triangle families head to the coast for long weekends and summer vacations. With a coastal porch design, you can enjoy a beach-style retreat at home, all year long. To achieve this look with this Triangle home, we included some specific design elements:
•The white lateral railings are reminiscent of a sailboat
•An open-gabled roof mimics those of coastal cottages
•Tan-colored deck boards echo the cool tones popular in beachside design palettes
•Choosing white columns and rails that contrast with the home’s navy-blue exterior adds a nautical flair
Tropical Resort
Where is your favorite tropical destination? Do you prefer exotic islands or lush rainforests? Whether inland or on the sea, tropical architecture tends to feature warm-hued native woods, open spaces with wide views, and sunshades that provide a measure of sun protection along with breezy airflow.
This Triangle home evokes a tropical design aesthetic with an overhead pergola that provides partial shade from the Southern sun and a wide deck that offers excellent views of the surrounding landscape. The decking is cast in a warm hue, just like the teak hardwood that is so popular and prevalent across the tropics. Islands such as Bali are known for their hand-crafted teak furniture and home accents. Back home in Raleigh-Durham, we can evoke the look of teak with AZEK multi-colored composite decking as seen here, or with imported pressure-treated exotic hardwoods.
Rustic Mountain Cabin
To get away from it all, many people head to the mountains to enjoy gorgeous views, cooler temperatures, and rustic architecture. The good thing about rustic architecture, however, is that it can be enjoyed in many types of environments. To bring a mountain feel to this Triangle home, we created an open porch with a tall gable roof, large king trusses, stacked stone post wraps, and decorative wrought iron brackets. Each of these features is typical of the rustic, mountain style, and work together to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for family gatherings or individual relaxing.
Modern Spa Retreat
Vacation time is often about self-care, making spa retreats a popular vacation choice for rejuvenation. Spas are known to provide a serene, calming atmosphere from the moment you step on the premises. Have you considered mimicking the simple, clean lines of your favorite spa, right in your own backyard? With a gorgeous stone patio, pool, spa, and outdoor kitchen, this backyard space is a fabulous place to relax. The partial shade provided by the pergola tops off the beauty of this soothing family retreat.
