If fall, to you, means the yard will soon be ablaze with the colors of autumn leaves, why wait? This is a great time to plant those vibrant chrysanthemums in your seasonal container gardens and planters. Decorating your outdoor living space with potted flowers is easy this time of year. Smaller pots of color look quite festive for fall gracing the steps of your deck or porch. Whether you place them at the bottom step, the top step or on all of the steps in between, that’s completely up to you!
Speaking of fall colors, decorative pillows enhance your deck and patio furniture and announce your intentions to celebrate the incoming season. It only takes a moment to swap out your bright, summery pillows for the more subtle tones of fall. Cooler weather means you’re going to need some cozy throws, too, especially as you enjoy peaceful fall evenings on your back porch. It doesn’t matter whether your tastes run from heirloom quilts to fleece blankets as long as you keep warm.
How else can you celebrate and decorate for fall outdoors? While nature does her part during daylight hours, it’s fun to welcome cooler evenings on the deck with the twinkle of string lighting. Whether you drape them casually or string them along the lines of your deck railing, these little lights create a special ambiance. We also love the look of lanterns with pillar candles for fall. Mix and match the lantern sizes on table tops or stands and let the flickering candles provide ambiance outdoors for fall, too.
